Located on the east side of Salt Lake City at 2600 Sunnyside Avenue South, Salt Lake City, UT 84108 and easily accessible from I-215 or I-80, Utah’s Hogle Zoo is a picturesque location for anyone who visits Salt Lake City. The Zoo offers convenient hours of operation and is open 7 days a week from 9:00am to 6:00pm, during the summer hours. Please follow the link to view other seasonal hours or any holiday closures.
Hogle Zoo Admission and Coupons
The Hogle Zoo admission costs are reasonably priced and allow you to bring the whole family, without having to break the bank. View the link above for admission prices throughout the year. There are additional benefits to planning a Family Reunion trip or Special event, with groups of 20 or more paying individuals given an additional discount on admission of $3.00 per adult and $2.00 for children and seniors. The only requirements are that one person pays for the entire group and that the group all enters together, through a one time entry.
Upon visiting Salt Lake City, you will soon learn that the state takes pride in their attractions and offers several Hogle Zoo Coupons through multiple providers. Currently, the Les Schwab coupons are an excellent ways for families attending the zoo with their children, to save on admission prices. Simply visit any Les Schwab store and pick up your Hogle Zoo & Les Schwab coupon, no purchase is necessary. The coupon is good for a single child admission with the purchase of any adult admission ticket. The nearest Les Schwab store is located about 14 minutes from Hogle Zoo, at 4011 S Highland Drive Holladay, UT 84121. For families planning a trip during the month of June, local news station Fox13 news is hosting a “viewer appreciation discount coupon” for Monday, June 13th. The discount is for any family, who purchases 4 admission tickets (one Adult ticket required) to receive $13 off the total cost. This is a great opportunity to receive an excellent discounted rate for your family of 4 or more and to avoid the large crowds; since the zoo typically receives a larger number of visitors during the weekend. Additional coupons can be found at any Utah Wendy’s location, with the purchase of a large combo meal, you will receive a coupon for a free child’s admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. Finally, for those looking for other attractions near Hogle Zoo, I advise visiting “This is the Place Heritage Park.” The park is located right next to Hogle Zoo and gives a historic look into what Utah was like during the early settlement days of the Nations 45thState. After visiting “This is the Place Heritage Park,” take your ticket stub to the Hogle Zoo admission and receive $2 off any admission price.
What to see and do at Utah’s Hogle Zoo
I’ve taken my family to Hogle Zoo on several occasions and have found multiple ways for families, of all ages, to have an incredible and memorable time. Hogle Zoo offers an array of exhibits including an: African Savannah, Rocky Shores, Asian Highlands and an Elephant Encounter. The variety of animals found at Utah’s Hogle Zoo is unlike any other you’ll find in the State. There are also several Hogle Zoo Attractions ranging from a Train that takes you throughout the African Savannah for the reasonable price of $2 per person and a carousel that includes all the species found inside the park. However, the attraction that my family enjoys most would be the Lighthouse Point Splash Zone. During the hot Utah summer days, the Lighthouse attraction is an excellent way to cool off your children, there is also shaded seating for parents.
Where to Eat at Utah’s Hogle Zoo
Upon walking throughout the 42 acre Zoo, guests will work up an appetite that may even rival some of the zoo’s tenants. Fortunately there are several Hogle Zoo Dining restaurants and cafes that feature an assorted menu, which even the pickiest of eaters can find something they’d enjoy. The menu prices are typical of what you would find in any Zoo or Park but there are ways to save. As a recommendation, upon entering the park, purchase a $4 souvenir cup and refill it throughout the day for only $1 per refill. Another way to save on food expenses is Hogle Zoo does not restrict outside food, I would recommend taking advantage of this and bringing a lunch and plenty of water with you inside the park. If you’re unable to bring food in with you, no problem, Hogle Zoo allows re-entry for the day you’ve purchase the ticket. With several restaurants near Hogle Zoo such as Red Robin, Red Butte Caféand Corner Canyon Bakery, there is something for everyone. However, for pizza lovers, may I suggest that you end the day by visiting The Pie Pizzeria or as the locals call it “The Pie.” The Pie is a Utah original and favorite for their original menu and assorted Pizza’s, may I suggest the Chicken Ranch Pizza.
