Attractions for tourism in Gateway Center

The amazing travel in gateway shopping mall and Vivint Smart Home Arena.

The gateway center is a good Attractions in Slat Lake City, which tourism would not be disappointed about it. It is located at 100 South and 400 West in downtown Salt Lake. I would like to recommend The Gateway shopping mall and Vivint Smart Home Arena to visitors. The gateway center would be your best choice for vocation.

Attractions in Gateway shopping mall

The Gateway is a large open shopping mall, it currently includes over 100 stores and restaurants. This shopping mall has public parking visiting people. I believe tourists could get good shopping experience and enjoy lots of offers.0608_3-2

The gateway contains shopping, dining, entertainment. Especially, there is the beautiful scenery along with your shopping journey. There is the dancing water of Olympic Snowflake Fountain in the Olympic Legacy Plaza to attract children playing games here. It’s enjoyable to stay, when visitors feel tired after shopping. The water could dance gracefully with incredible music and lights at night.

Tourists could realize the old union pacific building that occupies important part in Utah’s history. The grand entrance is union pacific depot grand hall, which is a good choice for wedding, fundraiser and reunions. This construction began in February 9, 1908, and was completed by July 1909.  Originally, it is known as union passanger station, which is the joint depot serving for San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City Railroad and the Oregon Short Line Railroad. This traditional building has classic title flooring with beautiful architectural details. Learn more here!

Famous home arena of Utah Jazz

The Vivint Smart Home Arena is a memorable place to visit too. The arena is the home arena of the Utah Jazz of the NBA and it could host about 1.8 million guests for entertainment event. Learn more here!

The arena opened in 1991, and it was known as Delta Center. But EnergySolutions purchased the naming rights in November 2006. The arena was renamed on October 26, 2015 as Vivint Smart Home arena. Especially, this arena was home to the figure skating and short track speed skating competitions of 2002 Winter Olympics. I think visitors could enjoy basketball game here for fun.

As home of Utah Jazz, it attracts lots of basketball fans to visit. Utah Jazz was founded in New Orleans in 1974 ant it moved to Salt Lake City in 1979. After the initial years of struggle, the Jazz became a frequent visitor to the playoffs since 1980s. From 1983 to 2002, the winning rate of regular season overs than 50%. The Jazz reached into NBA finals twice in 1997 and 1998, but both of times lost to Chicago Bulls. 2009-2010 season, the Jazz reached to the playoffs as Western fifth grades.

There are classic scenes that happened in Vivint Smart Home arena. When basketball fans talk about memorable competitions for Jazz, I think it should be in the season 1997 and season 1998. Jazz could keep over the years of stable performance because of stable lineup. Karl Malone and John Stockton as parter became the backbone of Jazz. After nearly 10 years of cooperation, Jazz finally reached its peek in the 1996-1997  season. Jazz finally got 64 wins, 18 losses as overall record and it is the first time they get into playoffs as number 1 of division. In the Western Conference, they have been defeated the Clippers, Lakers and Rockets and then, they met with Bulls, the champion of the Eastern Conference.  It is regretful they got 2 to 4 to lose the finals. In season 1997-1998, Jazz got into finals with the Bulls again, the Jazz is behind in the first three games as 1 to 3, but in the 4th round, the Jazz ended 8 game winning streak of Bulls as 83 to 81. At the round of 6th in the home of Jazz, Stockton made three-point shot at the last minute, the Jazz led as 86 to 83. But, the last time Jordan steals succeeded, winning the ball in 5.2 seconds before the final vote, the Jazz drubbing.
