Brigham Young and seven other leaders climbed the mountain, then they decided the city they intended to build. Because it is a short lane hike, bringing children to watch sunrise and sunset is a good choice for families. Especially at sunset, the Great Salt Lake can be seen in the distance to the northwest. There are more adventurous paths for hikers, another path on the opposite of the summit lead to a higher and farther summit, where most of Davis County can be seen.
