Best Park in Salt Lake City – Liberty Park
If you are looking for the best park to spend a beautiful summer day in Salt Lake City, look no further! We got you covered. Located in the heart of Salt Lake City on 600 E and 900 S, Liberty Park is the perfect place to make the most of your day.
Since it’s beginning in 1982, Liberty Park has been a favorite spot in the heart of Salt Lake City. It is not hard to find something to do there. Between the Swimming Pool, the Tennis Center, Basketball Courts, the Tracy Aviary, Picnic Table and Grills, Playgrounds and many other attractions, it is easy to see why Liberty Park is such a popular destination.
Now you may be thinking, with so many options of things to do, I don’t even know where to get started?
The Park Cafe
If I were you I would definitely start my day with a delicious breakfast from The Park Cafe, one of Salt Lake’s best breakfast places. Their breakfast menu is to die for! I personally recommend their French Toast.
The Park Cafe has become a must go to place and important part of Liberty Park since 1984. They are open daily from 7:00am – 3:00pm. You can give them a call at any time during business hours at (801) 487-1670.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, how about visiting the Tracy Aviary and seeing some of the most beautiful and exotic birds in the world. The Aviary is located inside of Liberty Park, close to the corner of 500 E and 1300 S, right across the street from The Park Cafe. You can’t miss it!

Picnic and Grill
After enjoying the delicious food and service from Park Cafe and an walking around Salt Lake’s best aviary you are probably a little tired and ready to sit down, relax a little and maybe eat some lunch. The Picnic Tables and and Grills are is perfect to sit down with family and friends and enjoy some quality time while checking out the beauty of this incredible park. Many people get together around there to play sports, grill some food and have a good time.
There are so many options of fun things to do: Sand and Concrete Volleyball area, Basketball, Bocce, Horseshoe Pits, Playgrounds, Rollerblade Path, Chip Path, Sidewalk Path and the Duck Pond (first picture in the top of the article and probably my favorite spot in the park). Isn’t this really the best park to spend your day at?
Now that you’ve seen everything why Liberty Park is Salt Lake’s Best Park, I am sure you just can’t wait to go check it out with your family and friends. If you are looking to make a full day out of it you are also able to make a reservation and enjoy everything this amazing park has to offer.
Half Day reservations (8:00am – 2:00pm or 3:00pm – 10:00pm) are $44.00 for Utah residents and $55 for non-residents. Full day reservations are $88.00 for Utah residents and $110.00 for non-residents. Your reservation comes with a recreation kit that includes two softballs, two baseball bats, a volleyball and volleyball net, a set of horseshoes, a football and a soccer ball. You can pick up your recreational kit on weekdays from 8:00 am until 4:45 pm the day of, or the day before your reservation. The rental cost of $11 plus tax will be collected at time of pickup.
